Most of my life I really had no problem with my weight. In fact, I was always very active in something.
I was always moving, playing & loved to be on the go. I had two very loving parents who loved me very much & stood by me no matter what.
My father was a retired Marine Corp Major who during the winter months was a Guidance Counselor at a High School & during the Summer months the owner/ director of camp for girls.
He had always been very active, but as he got older her got heavier & loved to eat & he ate a lot!! He wound up passing away at 65 years old in 1977 because of a heavy Cholesterol build up around his heart, despite the fact that five doctors told him he needed to lose the weight & it would kill him if he didn't, well, it did because he did not listen to them!!
That started my problems, I stayed thin for several years after that, not really realizing it I started gaining slowly because of my father passing, bad relationships, being made to feel that I was not as intelligent as I knew I was, but still it hurt & hurt a lot! I let things get to me & that caused lots of stress which leads to eating, causing weight gain & other problems as well.
In 1991 my Mother passed away. She & I were very close, especially after my Dad had passed. I went through more bad relationships & let lots of people step on my toes, I smoked & drank a lot. I wound up gaining as much as 50-75 pounds because I really felt like no one cared about me, loved me or really believed in me.
Yes, I have some wonderful friends who I know really love me & do care, but at that time it didn't seem to matter. I didn't love myself & that is why I knew I needed to change, but that was not what really did it. I went a couple more bad relationships & some serious hardships, but I met a very special woman, who is now my ex, but when we were together, we helped each other over come a lot
& I was able to motivate myself to get back on track with my weight & become healthy. We are still friends, but don't talk or see each other everyday, we have our own lives now.
I joined Anytime Fitness almost six years ago & have lost most of that weight that I had restricting me for almost 13 years! One more thing that has made me realize that I needed to get back on track as well was & is the reality show "The Biggest Loser" That show has inspired a lot of people to get off that couch & take the first step to being healthier & living the life they deserve! In a lot of ways I dedicate this website to the one trainer on that show, {Jillian Michaels} for getting me motivated to get back on track, join the gym, work out , eat right & get heathly!
If I can do it, you can too!! "NO EXCUSES!" ONLY YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE, NO ONE CAN SNAP THEIR FINGER OF WAVE A MAGIC WAND, YOU HAVE TO DO IT, SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!! GET ON TRACK & "THINK HEALTHY!!!!
